Cid is a native of central Florida growing up in beautiful Ocala. Being in Florida exposed her to a plethora of interesting reptiles which she had an affinity to right from the start. As with her love of reptiles Cid’s talent for art seemed to come naturally. Growing up she won numerous awards for her art but her favorite subject matter was always the same, she loves drawing anything reptilian. This even gained her the nickname in school of “Dragon Lady”.
Her awards include four awards for her piece “Soldiers Prayer” which include Best in Show and First Place in Graphics Drawing at the Paddock Mall art show in Ocala Florida. Other awards include Best in Show for “Kawaii Dragon” in FAFO (Fine Arts For Ocala). Cid’s work has also been purchased and included in the permanent collection of Central Florida Community College.
“My favorite medium is a combination of acrylic, colored pencil, pen and ink, and even a little airbrush. I have a lot of fun creating my artwork, especially reptile art. Even though it can be painstaking drawing out every single little scale on a lizard the end result is pure eye candy. I don’t think I will ever give in to painting those little cottages, flowers, fluffy kittens, or Tuscany hillsides that seem to be so popular, I enjoy painting the unexpected."
